Adopt a hospice

The following hospices are actively participating in our National Declutter Week 2012 campaign and would welcome donations of saleable items or storage space.  

Children’s Hospice South West:  provides hospice care to life-limited children and their families from across the South West; from South Gloucester, Bristol, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly.
 
Children’s Hospice South West has twelve charity shops in Barnstaple, Nailsea, Truro, Bideford, Plymouth, Wellington, Exeter, Portishead, Honiton and Tavistock.

Compton Hospice: is committed to providing the best care possible to the people of the Black Country.  Services include in-patient care, day care, home care nursing and hospice at home, medical outpatient care and home visits, social work support, physiotherapy, lymphoedema treatment, bereavement support, complementary therapies and spiritual support, all of which are available free-of-charge to a catchment area of 1.3 million people.
 
Compton Hospice has seventeen shops in Albrighton, Brierley Hill, Codsall, Compton, Coseley, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Kinver, Penkridge, Wall Heath, West Bromwich, Stourbridge, Wombourne and Wordsley.

East Cheshire Hospice provides care for life limiting illnesses. The hospice has a fifteen in-patient unit, a day care centre and two shops. One outlet is a traditional charity shop in Macclesfield and the other is a bookshop in Congleton.

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity provides comprehensive care and support through in-patient and at-home services to local families affected by life-limiting illness across Aylesbury Vale, the Chilterns, Bedfordshire and parts of Oxfordshire.

The Charity has five traditional charity shops in Aylesbury, Wendover, Winslow, Chinnor and Leighton Buzzard plus a designer dress agency ‘Labels of Amersham’, 12 the Broadway, Old Amersham, and a Furniture Warehouse based on Chamberlain Road, Aylesbury.

Hospiscare: Founded for the local community, by the local community, Hospiscare provides dedicated expert care for people with terminal diagnosis.

Hospicecare has eighteen shop outlets in Axminster, Budleigh Salterton, Crediton, Cullompton, Exter, Exmouth, Honiton, Okehampton, Ottery St Mary, Seaton, Sidmouth, Tiverton, Topsham and
Whipton.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice: offers very special care for people in the North Lincolnshire area living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice has eight outlets in Ashby, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Epworth, Goole, and Scunthorpe.

St John’s Hospice: based at the charitable Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, they provide totally free care, thanks to their supporters giving over £1m a year. St John’s helps two thousand people with a terminal illness and their families from Hammersmith to the City, from the Thames to Hampstead.
 
St John’s has a charity shop in St John’s Wood in London.

St Michael’s Hospice offers high quality care services tailored to the needs and choices of local people in Hastings and Rother with life-limiting illnesses.
 
St Michael’s has nine shops in Hastings, Bexhill on Sea, St Leonards on Sea, Ore, Battle, Sidley and Rye.

Sobell House Hospice provides care to improve the quality of life of patients and their families facing life-threatening illness such as cancer or other long-term conditions such as heart or respiratory disease. 

The Hospice provides many services, including an inpatient unit, hospital and community palliative care teams, a day services unit, outpatients clinics, complementary therapies, a bereavement service and an education and research facility.

Sobell House has retail outlets in Bicester, Oxford, Botley, Carterton, Headington, Kidlington, Thame, and Witney.

Wisdom Hospice: opened in 1984, the Hospice is now run by Medway Community Healthcare. It provides specialist palliative care for patients throughout Medway and Swale with terminal illnesses. Woodlands Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with cancer and other life limiting illnesses across North Liverpool, South Sefton and Knowsley. The Hospice now cares for over 800 patients and their families each year. All care is provided free of charge in a number of different settings including Day Therapy, Outpatients, Community Outreach within the patient’s home and an Inpatient unit.
